I have plenty of bird shot that I always consider good self defense ammo. However, after shooting a atandard shipping box with #6 shot close range, I changed my mind. A lot of shots didn't Penetrate the thru the the outside of box. This is the biggest shot I could. I got this in 3". I shot an old 3/8" thick board. Blow thru it. Cut it like butter. No buck now available.
