The 6.5mm/.264 inch bore has recently enjoyed a resurgence of interest. Several rifle manufacturers currently produce 6.5x55mm sporters, exposing a new generation of shooters to this famous old Scandinavian service and hunting cartridge. Competitive HighPower and Silhouette shooters have also shown great interest in the 6.5mm bore size. The 142 grain #1742 bullet has a longer ogive radius than the 140 grain #1740 bullet and thus a higher ballistic coefficient with less sensitivity to crosswinds. While they are recognized around the world for record-setting accuracy, MatchKing and Tipped MatchKing bullets are not recommended for most hunting applications. Although MatchKing and Tipped MatchKing bullets are commonly used for varmint hunting, their design will not provide the same reliable explosive expansion at equivalent velocities in varmints compared to their lightly jacketed Hornet, Blitz or Varminter counterparts. This bullet requires a barrel twist rate of 18in or faster. I received these they looked great. Loaded into 10 new unused 6.5 creedmore starline brass. I shot them and got 8 fps variance from low to high .will update as I fine tune this load. As always optics planet fast shipping. Keeps you informed. And great prices and variety.

I've had good luck with these bullets. They usually group under 1 moa at 100 yards and typically still under 1 moa at 300 yd (5 round groups 3" or less). My only complaint is that the 500 count box was pretty "rough" dented/crushed because the air bags used to package the heavy box of bullets deflated, maybe they should use a different packaging for heavy boxes of bullets. Shipping was quick thru Optics Planet.

Highly recommended. Great stability for long range shooting.
