The MatchKing 135 grain .270 caliber half-point Hollow Point Boat Tail (HPBT) is Sierra’s preeminent target bullet. Designed for the venerable .270 AAC Blackout cartridge which is an excellent round for long-range applications, it uses Sierra’s innovative new carbon-fiber staking system to keep the projectile on target. The necks are chamfered to produce a sleek, low drag shape that seated in the thin jackets. The projectiles have a small meplat, a thin jacket and a uniform base to prevent deformation under the pressure of firing. The 135 grain MatchKing is one of the most popular of these, as it handles well and Sierra’s in-house tooling and brassing capabilities. The lower jacket reduces leading to a smaller overall diameter for a more controlled, smooth bullet delivery. Sierra MatchKing 135 grain HPBT (HPT) bullets are designed for sub-MOA accuracy and may be loaded in any number of different velocities. They are designed for and manufactured to the very highest quality standards.
