Lyman Dies fit all popular presses using industry standard 7/8″ x 14 threads. The Lyman Neck Expanding (M) Die has two steps. The first step expands the inside of the case neck to just under bullet diameter for precise case neck tension in the finished reload. The second step expands the case mouth to bullet diameter or slightly over. This allows the jacketed or cast bullet to be started perfectly centered in the case mouth and properly aligned with the axis of the case neck. I purchased multiple neck expanders because I load different caliber shells. some of the complete sets of dies come with expanders, many dont. I find these expanders work better when loading brass because I can pull out one neck expander to do different shells without getting out different sets of dies to reload.an example would be I can use one expander for 380 9mm 38 super or 357 sig with only one bullet seater, so I dont have to drag out 4 different dies sets.

The Lyman Neck Expanding Die is the Neck expanding solution for Berry's Pistol Bullets. Berry's bullets are .356 Vs the common .355 of most 9 m bullets. The die expands and creates a flair at the mouth of the case. The flair allows for easy incursion of the bullet prior to the crimping operation.

If you are loading cast bullets into any caliber case, this die will prevent swage of the projectile as well as easy proper seating. The other dies that I find to be an absolute gem is the Lee Factory Crimp Dies which are at their best with large straight walled cases (like .45's)Pros: These are essential for quality loading cast bulletsCons: NONE
