The Berger Hybrid OTM (Open Tip Match) Bullets were specifically designed for the 30 Caliber AR platform. The key to delivering on these requirements is to heat the projectile sufficiently to achieve the terminal ballistics dictated by the design of the ogive and the jacket. The heat causes the soft lead core to melt and burn uniformly, which allows the projectile to achieve high velocities and a long effective range.
