The Barnes Tac-Xpd Defense 9mm +P 115gr TAC-XP Handgun Cartridges – 20 Rounds delivers premium defense on target. The extreme pressure is created by a patented manufacturing process that shrink-fits the case and pre-lubes the metal case rim. This allows for consistent ignition and cycling through the entire round. The patented nose geometry also initiates expansion creating the famous Barnes “cut on contact” energy transfer to the bullet. The Tac-Xpd Defense 9mm +P 115gr TAC-XP Handgun Ballistic Tip provides the high-energy required for the terminal performance, often called the “doubleton” or “doubletorque” feature. Just like all Barnes TAC-Xpd Defense Centerfire Handgun Ammunition, this high-performance ammunition combines reliability, accuracy, higher velocities and weight retention to deliver maximum hits on target each and every time. Low recoil and great ammo for ccw. Fast shipping and great packaging

I've tested this in several different 9mm pistols and always find it to be accurate, low recoil, and no muzzle flash. Velocity from a 4" PPQ averaged 1113, 4.5" CZ P-09 averaged 1148, P365 XL 3.7" barrel averaged 1059, and an Arex Delta M with a 4" barrel got 1106. It gets pretty close to the rated velocity of 1125 which is lower than most 115gr 9mm ammo, but it still expands very consistently to 0.70" and penetrates 13-14" in multiple tests. There are many test videos out there showing how well it performs.

I’ve been trying different 9mm defensive ammo rounds for my EDC and the Barnes Tac-XPD 115gr in my opinion is one of the best rounds out there for self defense. I’ve found through testing that these rank up there with Federal HST’s and Gold Dot 124 gr rounds in expansion and penetration but have less recoil in my 3.75” CZ 75.
